Flexo IAS Image Analysis System

Flexo IAS

The Flexo IAS is the ideal tool for productivity and quality improvement in flexographic printing. For the first time, quantitative, objective decisions can be made in every step of the flexographic process - from proof to film to plate to print - all using a single instrument, anytime, anywhere, on materials of any size, and at any random location. No limitations in regards to conventional or digital photopolymer plates.

Design - the Flexo IAS's revolutionary design brings together modern CCD image capturing, advanced image processing, and innovative analysis software in a hand-held PDA device. Its built-in Pocket PC enables easy-to-use image viewing, quantitative analysis, reporting data logging, and direct communication with a PC.

Capabilities - the Flexo IAS is a high resolution, analytical digital microscope that is a dot analysis that provides critical information on dot size, dot shape, dot gain, % dot, line screen, and screen angle. It also is a print quality analyzer that evaluates registration, line bleed, line density, edge sharpness, edge raggedness, resolution, optical density, tome reproduction, gray balance, color consistency, graininess, mottle, ghosting, slur, and many more.

3M "E-Series" Flexographic Mounting Tapes for Wide Web and Corrugated Plate Mounting

3M Easy Mount Tape

3M "E-Series" are products manufactured with an exclusive liner to create micro-channels in the adhesive that can alleviate air entrapment issues when mounting plates. The crosshatched pattern creates a continuous and permanent network of channels that allow air to flow on both sides of the tape.

Benefits include:

Allowing the air to more easily escape from between the tape and sleeve/cylinder can greatly reduce time spent mounting plates.

Quality can be improved by reducing the possibility of air bubbles that can cause print defects, especially in screens and highlights.

3m "E-Series" is currently available for wide web

FlexoGuide Tech Tip

Tech Tip #1 - Prepress - Shortcut for finding the lightest highlight and darkest shadow detail in an image using Adobe Photoshop

FlexoGuide What's New

BASF nylosolv A, Photopolymer Platemaking Washout Solvent

BASF nyloflex Photopolymer Plates

BASF nylosolv A, photopolymer platemaking washout solvent is an advanced solution for processing virtually all photopolymer plate types fast and with low V.O.C. emissions and odors. He higher flashpoint of nylosolv A allows for processing at higher temperatures and shorter process times. Faster washout times cause less polymer swelling and thus result in shorter drying times.

Nylosolv A washout solvent is a component mixture of low toxicity hydrocarbons and alcohol.

  • Easy to distill and use
  • No balancing required after distillation.
  • Produces consistent washout results
  • Flashpoint greater than 141 degrees F.

Reclaiming nylosolv A requires a simple distillation of saturated solvent and allows for continuous distillation operations. A 55-gallon drum of nylosolv A solvent will typically require only five gallons of fresh solvent to restore the entire volume of the drum.

For more information on nylosolv A, facilities suitable to reclaim nylosolv, or any of BASF's full line of conventional or digital plate materials, please call 1-800-445-4017 or e-mail us at info@teamflexo.com.
