About All Printing Resources
APR has spent the last 20 years delivering training and consultive services for over 250 companies in the flexographic package printing industry. Our training and consulting services are based on a "team approach" to comprehensive problem solving and development of performance enhancing training solutions. Our staff has walked in the shoes of our clients - as plant managers, press operators, platemakers, mounters, pressroom supervisors, printing managers, quality control managers and prepress managers. Their experiences give us a clear understanding of the challenges and possible solutions to solve many of the pressing issues facing the members of the flexo industry.
About DiTrolio Flexographic Institute
The DiTrolio Flexographic Institute, Inc. was founded to meet the flexographic industry's need for quality, off-site training to counter the problems of on-the-job training: wasted production and equipment time, wasted raw materials, and inconsistent skill sets. The institute offers industry-specific training seminars for all skill levels - from beginning press operations to advanced printing applications - and features a state-of-the-art environment where new press operators and seasoned industry professionals alike can gain hands-on exposure to printing and finishing processes.

Graymills Quick Change Peristaltic Ink Pump wins The FlexoTech Award for Innovation in Printing press/Finishing.
A good time saving device which helps to reduce efforts when setting up or changing the press. Saves downtime, chemical waste and reduces emissions. A practical innovation which helps printers and associated personnel.
With shorter runs and more colours being used, press downtime becomes more of a major contributor to job cost. Responding to the need for quicker changeover, the company has developed a quickchange peristaltic head. Using a purpose built stand, the hose is installed in a head off press during the run. At the run end, the operator simply pulls a release pin on the dirty head, slides the used head off, slips on the new head and the function is complete in less than one minute with no tools. The used head is then cleaned and prepared off press when time is available ready for the next run.

Considerations for Printing with Digital Flexo Plates
On October 17th, All Printing Resources, in conjunction with Harper Corporation, conducted a free seminar discussing how to optimize digital flexo plate technology for quality, consistency and repeatability.
This seminar delivered the latest information needed to get the most from digital flexo plate technology regardless if making plates in-house or ordering them from an outside vendor. The seminar also offered knowledge for those not currently using digital plates or digital proofing but are interested to find out if this technology can benefit them at this time.
Topics covered included: how to best see the benefits on press of printing with digital plates by optimizing your press and ink delivery system, how color management is affected in a digital workflow, and how new technologies can improve productivity for better matching of proofs to the press. Other topics discussed were an update on where digital platemaking and proofing is today, how to best handle and store digital plates, and a discussion of the best mounting tape compressibility choices for digital plates as well as what's new in "digital" mounting technology.
APR plans to offer similar seminars again in the future, in different areas of the country. If you are interested in learning more about this seminar, please contact us: Phone: 1-630-941-9444, Fax: 1-630-941-3539, E-Mail: training@teamflexo.com
