APR End Seals

Multiple Materials used for Optimum Performance

APR offers multiple types of foam, rubber, felt, plastic, or composite materials in various thicknesses, densities and colors for the broadest range of products available to meet specific customer requirements. We have many success stories of finding a better sealing materials or more cost effective solution with similar sealing results than some of the O.E.M. seals such as molded rubber items.

New DuroSeal Composite End Seal

Consistent sealing power over much longer periods of time.

"We can run several million feet of product with DuroSeal, versus 20,000 feet with our previous foam seals," said this wide web printer, who, for competitive reasons, asked to remain anonymous.

APR has experimented with many designs and has come up with solutions that optimize the seal pressure needed to ensure proper sealing but minimize the pressure that can create unnecessary wear. We can customize the felt and foam combination for specific application requirements and enhance the seal's cushioning fit. The felt portion is lubricated to further reduce un-needed friction. The results are a more consistent seal with improved sealing power over longer periods of time, and often drastically advanced performance.

DuroSeals can serve a very wide variety of inks and inking chamber systems where poor fits or seating cause leaking, premature blade wear and even anilox damage. These seals have proven to be extremely beneficial in coating applications where long wear properties are of significant value.

With continuous research and field testing, APR has developed a customized solution-oriented product line of seal materials and configurations that are capable of advancing almost any press chamber's seal performance. Through a custom diagnosis and a range of over 25 different material solutions, APR can determine the best seal for any given condition or ink/chamber/press combination.
