1. Place the 1" grid sheet underneath the replacable self-healing cutting mat. The 1" grid can be used as a general guide for lining up plates, not measuring.
2. To acheive the best results always cut plates on the self-healing cutting mat. Place the mat flush against the side stop on the right hand side.
3. Plates should always be cut with the emulsion side up.
4. Adjust the blade depth to slightly more than the thickness of the plate. Note: If cut line is "wavy", shorten length of blade.
5. The cut line is offset from the straight edge by approximately 3/32". The slots in the lift-arm brackets for the straight edge are designed to accommodate plates of varying thicknesses up to 250mm. The distance of the cut line to the straight edge may vary according to plate thickness.
6. Place the palm of one hand on the cutter, the other hand on the flexo plate. Push the cutting head down and move it accross the plate at a consistant speed and pressure. Do not "pull" the cutting head accross the material.
7. For thicker plates, use the allen key to adjust the set screw in the cutting head. For ceramic and teflon coated blades, remove the set screw and plastic bushing altogether.
