Quick Release and Mounting of Applicator Head
Installation of the applicator head is quick and easy-no tools required. Unique receiver brackets on the backside of the applicator head slide over mounting disks and are tightened with two large hand screws. The process of removing or replacing an applicator now takes seconds.

Completely Sealed Completely Enclosed
On the Pinnacle symmetrically opposing doctor and trailing blades contact the engraved cylinder length, horizontally sealing the applicator chamber to the anilox cylinder.

In this totally sealed and enclosed reservoir, the cavitation that occurs at higher speeds on open pans can be eliminated. Also, the cavity design also prevents foaming and surface skinning of water-based liquids.

With all operations occurring in a closed environment, liquid containment and evaporation is reduced. Therefore, constant viscosity's can be more easily maintained. And with the solvent fumes contained within the applicators, hazardous fugitive vapors can't escape into the workplace. The sealed system also eliminates ink slinging and splashing. Waste is reduced; less replenishment of expensive inks and coatings is required.

The Pinnacle was designed to improve sealing, and minimize personnel skills required to achieve consistent ink transfer rates. Doctor blades and trailing blades can be changed on press in less than a minute by loosening thumbscrews that are captured on the blade-clamping bar, thus no tolls required and no lose parts. A unique clamping bar seal helps prevent ink from seeping behind the blade, ensuring accurate blade positioning to the locating pins.

The blade-clamping bar contains a rubber seal that runs the length of the bar. These helps to stabilize the doctor blade along the entire length of the head, promoting even blade wear across the anilox rolls and extending blade life tremendously.

Face seals running on the anilox roll close off the cavity ends and are located in a chamber that provides easy, self locating, seating when a seal locating, seating when a seal replacement is required. Each seal can be adjusted independently from blade to anilox adjustments. Seals conform to the engraved cylinder, creating a fully enclosed liquid reservoir. Again no tools are required to change seals.

Pinnacle Precision Loading System
Pinnacle integrates simple technologies for adjustment of the head to the anilox roll. Large hand screws allow for infinite adjustment on a single plane of applicator head to the anilox roll.

Adjustment of cavity to anilox is simple and stable. Independent adjustment of each side allows the unit to match the taper of a particular roll without over skewing of the unit.

By design, the blades will remain as set, eliminating blade to roll pressure fluctuations associated with typical air/oil loaded blade systems. When applicator heads are replaced there is no need to adjust for skew of for angle. Only a minimal adjustment will be made for blade to anilox contact point. And no tools are required for any of the adjustments.

The rigid aluminum body of the Pinnacle and the Precision loading system assists in providing the longest blade life in the industry.

Operator Safety
In addition, Pinnacle has been designed to improve operator safety. The totally enclosed unit is reported to capture solvent vapors at an increased efficiency of as much as 45% over open pan designs. Because operators do not have to remove inkers to change doctor blades or to change seals, exposure to sharp doctor blades is greatly reduced. No longer do press operators have to struggle to lift out assemblies. The Pinnacle is designed to be removed from the press in a matter of seconds without any tolls being required.

Independently Adjustable Seal Design so that when you need that little extra contact on you seal surface, you don't have to increase your blade contacts as well, which leads to anilox roll scoring.

Stabilizer bar on the blade clamp dramatically reduces the wave effect that is caused by standard blade clamps that bolt the blade to the head every 6 to 8 inches, thus causing a ripple effect across the doctor blade from pressure point to pressure point. Interflex blade clamps apply pressure evenly along the doctor blade giving you a level doctoring effect across the anilox roll, which in turn saves on anilox and blade life.

Our toll-less design was specifically designed for the press operator. All blade clamps, end plates, etc. are removable without any tolls being required. Not only is it tool-less, but all of the fasteners are captured to the parts being removed. Thus there are no loose parts to fall into the press or to be misplaced.

Quick removal of the head from the press for either wash-up purposes or exchange of heads is a must and Interflex's design does just this with our simple head lockup system and quick release disconnect hose couplings.
