Stringent Quality Control programs and procedures are the core of New Hudson's commitment to quality, and our stated goal is to meet or exceed O.E.M. specifications on all cylinders and bases.
Each of our Precision Plate Cylinders must pass over 50 inspection criteria during the manufacturing process and before approval to ship is granted. Our commitment to in-process quality measurement guarantees that each roll we build is within the same specifications as all others in the same set. And such repeatability ensures that each cylinder will provide consistent print quality.
Every Precision Plate Cylinder is dynamically balanced to reduce press wear and vibration- - all on maximum press speed and bearing life. New Hudson balances all plate cylinders to ISO 1940/1 level G2.5. Our tolerance capability includes +-.00018" size control (average) and .00019" TIR (average). Keyways are positioned precisely to maintain proper alignment relationship between the gear hub assembly and the printing cylinder scribe-line. New Hudson customers rest assured that every cylinder is guaranteed to meet their needs, because our Process Control and Quality Assurance documentation records data on size control, TIR and keyway alignment.
As sleeve technology expands in the printing marketplace, New Hudson Precision Sleeve Mandrels are the right answer for questions regarding the tight tolerances required for successful sleeve program. Excess taper and TIR no longer are acceptable, and size control is critical in mounting and dismounting sleeves. That's quality you can depend on . . . we guarantee it!
