Key NEW SpectroDENS Features and Changes

  • Even more accurate spectral curves - now reporting every 10 nm (vs previous models every 20 nm)
  • NIST traceable calibration
  • Expanded memory capacity for up to 20,000 reference values
  • Scans up to 43" Embedded hardware encoder to scan bars up to 43” long (200 patches) in 10 seconds
  • Wireless inductive charging
  • Micro USB connector allow device to charge when connected to a PC
  • Updated unibody case machined from a single block of aluminum to further improve durability and reliability in production environments
  • Improved integrated wheels have been improved for smoother, easier scanning

Other Key SpectroDENS Differentiators

  • Still multi-functional seamless transitions between spot and scan readings
  • This spectro is applicable for prepress, proofing, ink rooms, pressrooms and process control
  • Unique side aperture makes for very easy positioning and quick measuring of targets
  • Simple and user friendly for one-handed operation
  • Intuitive user interface
  • Compatible with ISO 12647-7 datasets
  • G7 feature in Advanced and Premium models includes current standards (CRCP 1-7) and provides recommended density adjustments to improve delta-E
  • Can scan G7 control strips using press-side process control software (such as SpotOn!). Also supported by Curve 4 and SpectroConnect for G7 measurements.
  • Can load Brand Color libraries
  • Broad connectivity to a variety of software solutions
  • For Offset printers: ExPresso Mini shows density variations across the print width with recommendations for density adjustments per ink zone.

How does the SpectroDENS stack up to the competition

SpectroDENS vs. Competition Because the SpectroDENS includes 2-years warranty (compared to 1-year for other devices) and has a lower service contract price, the total cost of ownership is more the $2K less over 4-year ownership with coverage. Couple that with the ability to scan using the SpectroDENS integrated wheels, the Techkon is about $3K less then other devices that require the purchase of a separate accessory to enable scanning.
