Flexo Fundamentals Class

Target audience

New press and prepress operators, press support, customer service reps, sales, management, marketing, and those interested in learning about flexo.

Class Description

Whether you are new to Flexo or looking to better understand the nuances that make Flexo so unique, this workshop is for you! It’s designed to engage everyone involved in the production cycle, from sales to marketing to customer service to support departments and into the pressroom.

Participants will leave with a clear understanding of the Flexo process, related terminology, press components, and prepress/platemaking/inkroom support functions. We will address common print defects and procedures for defect resolution. We will also introduce key differences and challenges in spot color, screen and process color printing. Breakout sessions will include making a plate, a narrow-web press run and demonstrations of ink maintenance and print analysis.

Catherine Haynes - Director of Digital Solutions & Training, APR
Catherine has more than twenty years of experience in the printing industry and has been a certified G7 Expert for more than nine years. She has been a speaker, session chairperson and forum chairperson for the FTA Forums, as well as a judge for FTA’s annual printing awards. Catherine is also an FTA Certified Level III Implementation Specialist.

Dan Muthig

Dan Muthig - TSG Member, APR
Dan’s experience includes press operator, customer service, plate maker, prepress technician and prepress manager. He has served as a session chairperson for the FTA forum as well as a judge for FTA’s annual printing awards. Dan is also an FTA Certified FIRST Implementation Specialist.
