APR Events Schedule for 2018

APR Intro to Flexo (2-day) — May 22-23

Whether you are new to Flexo, or looking to better understand the nuances that make Flexo so unique, this workshop is designed to engage everyone involved in the production cycle, from sales to marketing to customer service to support departments and into the pressroom. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of the Flexo process itself, related terminology, press components, and prepress/platemaking/inkroom support functions. We will address common print defects and procedures for defect resolution. We will also introduce key differences and challenges in spot color, screen and process color printing. Breakout sessions will include making a plate, a narrow-web press run, print analysis, and ink maintenance demonstration. Open to ALL industry professionals.

APR/Esko ECG (2.5 day) — June 19-21

Maybe you are just now getting in on the buzz or are already entrenched with printing expanded color gamut, either way this workshop is focused for individuals wanting to gain a deeper understanding of methods and current advancements for implementing ECG. Flexo printers recognize that ECG offers them an opportunity to make their Flexo print process more competitive with digital printing. It has the potential to improve production efficiencies and reduce waste and downtime. We will systematically work through the steps for successful implementation of ECG, to include applying the G7 methodology. We will also explore color theory, color proofing, and color management. Breakout sessions will include a press run, process control procedures and tools for prepress and the pressroom, and print analysis. We will review how measurements are utilized for image optimization, proofing and color management. Open to ALL industry professionals.

APR Flexo Fundamentals & Best Practices (2 days) — Sept 11-12

Join us for a seminar on Flexo fundamentals and solutions to help improve pressroom efficiencies. Participants will review best practices for process control and troubleshooting throughout the production cycle. We will discuss common industry standards and how to successfully implement a “run to the numbers” approach to color management in the pressroom, addressing unique aspects for both spot color and process color printing. Discussions will also review basic color theory and terminology to include Lab, Lch, and Delta-E color tolerancing. Breakout sessions will include a press run, process control procedures and tools for prepress and the pressroom, and print analysis. Open to ALL industry professionals.

APR Elite Printer Workshop (2.5 day) — Oct 23-25

Are you looking to take your print quality to the next level? Maybe looking to delve into new markets for high-end process color printing? Perhaps you would love to win a coveted FTA Excellence in Flexography Award. We will explore how running to standards, like G7, and enforcing process control procedures enables you to extend your capabilities to new heights. We will also discuss ECG, defining the steps for implementation, but also exploring what it takes to succeed with 4-color and 7-color process printing. Sessions will target topics including considerations for design and prepress conversions, ink selection, characterizations, process control (prepress into pressroom), and trending and innovative technologies. Breakout sessions will include a press run, process control procedures and tools for prepress and the pressroom, and print analysis. Open to ALL industry professionals.
