Flexo Fundamentals Class

All Printing Resources (APR) announces that the company will hold a two-day flexo fundamentals class September 11-12 at the company's Glendale Heights, IL Technology Center. The event is open to all printers and converters and will provide basic-level technical knowhow for a range of company personnel including new hires, customer service, sales and management trainees.

Attendees will gain a clear understanding of the flexographic print process in addition to related terminology, press components, and prepress/platemaking/ink room support functions. Print experts will take participants through the most common print defects and the procedures for defect resolution. Participants will also learn the differences and challenges in running spot colors, screens, and process color printing. Breakout sessions will include making and mounting a flexo plate, a narrow web press run, and demonstrations of ink maintenance and print analysis.

Dave Nieman, President and CEO of APR, comments, "Our Flexo Fundamentals classes are more and more in demand. Given the workforce challenges our industry is facing, flexo converters are increasingly hiring personnel from outside the industry. This creates the need for a teaching model that involves technical experts working with attendees in the fundamentals of the flexo print process. Our objective in holding these events is to ensure that attendees leave far better educated and informed ultimately strengthening their positions in, and contributions to, their respective companies."
