Q. Do Esterlam synthetic blades meter as well as steel?
A. YES. A recent independent study showed that Esterlam synthetic blades actually caused less dot gain than steel. They also offer consistent solid color densities throughout a job run.

Q. Do Esterlam blades last longer than steel?
A. YES. They have special self-lubricating characteristics, which give them greater wear resistance. Esterlam blades also require less doctor blade pressure, which significantly increases potential life.

Q. Are Esterlam blades safer to handle than steel and fiberglass blades?
A. YES, considerably safer. Esterlam doctor blades do not develop the razor sharp edges of steel and fiberglass blades. However, we encourage the use of gloves when handling any blade material.

Q. Are Esterlam blades expensive to use?
A. NO. Esterlam blades are very cost effective. You will use fewer doctor blades, saving you money. Changing them less often saves you time. Your anilox rolls will remain in better condition and your operators will have a much safer working environment.
